Colorado Cub Wingman Privacy Policy

Colorado Cub Wingman ("the App") is a flight tracking and logbook application for general aviation pilots. Your privacy is the foundation this service is built on.

What Data We Collect

When you use the App with tracking enabled, the following data is transmitted to our servers:

• GPS position — latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading, and accuracy
• Tail number — the aircraft N-number you enter
• Pilot name — the name you enter (optional)

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we also receive:

• Email address — used to identify your account
• Display name — if provided by the identity provider

We do not collect your phone number, device ID, advertising ID, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any other personal information.

How We Use Your Data

Your position data is used to display your flight on a live map at the share URL you generate. Share links are accessible only to people you share them with.

If you are a Wingman Pro subscriber, your flight data (GPS track, altitude, route, duration) is saved to your private flight logbook. You control which flights are shared via permanent links.

How We Store Your Data

Free tier: Position data is held in server memory only and automatically erased 2 hours after your last position update. No flight history is retained.

Pro tier: Flights are stored in an encrypted database for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days. You can delete individual flights at any time. Flights are private by default.

Who Can See Your Data

Only people who have your share link. Your flight is never displayed publicly. Live share links contain a cryptographically random identifier that cannot be guessed. Permanent share links for Pro users can be toggled on and off per flight.

Subscriptions and Payments

Wingman Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store your payment information. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and subscription status only — not your name, email, or location data.

Third-Party Services

• Sign in with Apple / Google — used for authentication only. We receive your email and a unique identifier.
• RevenueCat — used to manage subscription status. Receives only your anonymous user ID.

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following locally on your phone:

• Settings — your tail number, pilot name, sharing mode, and authentication token
• Position buffer — GPS positions are temporarily buffered in a local database when your phone has no cell signal. Buffered positions are sent to the server when connectivity returns, then deleted from the device.

Permissions

• Location (background) — required to track your flight with the screen off. GPS data is sent only to awoslog.com.
• Notifications — used to show a persistent notification while tracking is active.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual flights from your logbook at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact dave@coloradocub.com.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at wingman.coloradocub.com/privacy.html. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the revision date.
